Today, the Diocese of Washington held its 2009 Diocesan Assembly at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC. Presiding at the Divine Liturgy and at the meeting was His Beatitude, Metropolitan JONAH, Metropolitan of All-America and Canada. His Beatitude is moving his residence from NY to Washington, DC by the end of this year in order to reside in his diocese and to visit his churches.

Attending as official voting delegates for SS Cyril & Methodius, in addition to Fr. Timothy, were Ms. Nadya Choparinoff, Council President, and Ms. Elisabeth Sipkov-Pineros, Council Secretary. Dr. George Lazar attended as an official representative in a non-voting capacity.

A briefing of the Assembly will be available after the Divine Liturgy this Sunday. The service will begin at 2:00 at St. Luke Church in McLean, VA. September 11, 2009
