Saints Cyril and Methodius Bulgarian Orthodox Mission was established in 2001 and celebrates the Divine Liturgy twice a month at St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Church in 6801 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101. Announcements
Metropolitan JONAH will visit the parish on Sunday, April 29. He will celebrate the Divine Liturgy and he will be our guest at a Bulgarian ethnic party immediately following. Everyone is invited to enjoy the day. The Divine Liturgy begins at 1:30 PM and the party will end at 6:00 PM.

As widely reported, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah, consecrated Holy Chrism during Holy Week, with the concluding rites being celebrated at the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk here on Great and Holy Thursday morning, April 12, 2012.
The preparatory rites began on the morning of Great and Holy Monday, April 9, and continued through Great and Holy Wednesday. Clergy stirred the Chrism — a mixture of dozens of oils, herbs, fragrances — continuously, day and night, as Scripture was read.
The occasion marked the first time since 2004 that Holy Chrism has been consecrated and the first time that Metropolitan Jonah has presided over the rites since his election as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
Administration of the Sacraments The preparation for receipt of any sacrament whether the receipt of the Eucharist at the Divine Liturgy, marriage, baptism, or any other is preceded by a period of preparation and sober contemplation. In the case of reception to adults into the Church, a period of study, careful thought, and instruction is involved. Fr.
